Group Funeral Expense (GFE) is a social welfare fund that was established to accord members and their immediate families a decent send-off upon demise. All members are required to pay kshs.100 every month as GFE. A member is required to list his/her immediate family members (spouse, children, biological parents and parents-in-law) in the application form prior.
Features
GFE covers up to 7 family members. Below is the list of the members covered and the amount.

| Death of a Principal member | Family gets Kshs 145,000.00 |
| Death of a spouse | Member gets Kshs 45,00.00 |
| Death of a child | Member gets Kshs 40,000.00 per child |
| Death of a parent / parent in law | Member gets Kshs 30,000.00 per parent |
During the claim process, the following documents will be required:
- Duly completed claim form.
- Copy of ID card for both the deceased and the principal member.
- Original and stamped burial permit.
- All Death claims will be reported within six months from the date of death.
